The Spiegelshof in Bielefeld is a manor and estate house, reflecting the architectural distinctiveness of the Weser Renaissance. This historic building today houses a museum.
History+
The origins of the Spiegelshof date back to 1540, when the two-story quarry stone building was constructed. Characteristic of the Weser Renaissance style are the elaborately designed wheel-crenellated gables on the narrow sides. A later addition to the building occurred in 1682 with the construction of a staircase. A vaulted hall with an original beamed ceiling has been preserved in the rear section.

Today, the Spiegelshof serves as a natural history museum and is thus accessible. The building is a plastered quarry stone structure whose historical substance is well preserved.
