The Herminenhof noble residence in Wels, Upper Austria, is a castle that today serves as a kindergarten and city archive. Its history dates back to the early 18th century.

History+

The main building of Herminenhof was constructed in 1725. Karl Josef von Eiselsberg commissioned its construction on the grounds of the former noble manor Alt-Traunegg. In 1807, Samuel Vogl, a manufacturer from Mulhouse in Alsace, acquired the entire estate. In the mid-19th century, specifically 1845, the building was converted into an oil factory. Later, the property housed various other manufacturing operations. Since 2010, a part of the city archive has been located within its premises.
