Fuchsenhof Manor is located in the Upper Austrian Mühlviertel, not far from the town of Freistadt. Its history is marked by noble owners and a long-standing conflict over its status.

History+

The Fuchsenhof was first documented in 1377 under the name Rasteinhof as a noble free seat. In 1398, the Freistadt citizen Hans Hafenpier acquired the property. After several changes of ownership, the estate passed to Ulrich Luczer and his wife Katharina in 1478 and was subsequently called Luzengut. In the 16th century, a dispute erupted between the owners, the Weissenauer family, and the town of Freistadt over the noble status of the property and the associated taxes.
