The Marienhof Manor, a mansion and estate house, is located in the municipality of Spillern in Lower Austria. Originally known as "Josephinenhof", the property evolved from a residence to a stud farm.

History+

The origins of Marienhof date back to 1856, when a two-story, castle-like building was erected on the property, then owned by Baron von Rothschild and called "Josephinenhof", and an English garden was laid out. In 1861, the Viennese engineer Franz Kreuter acquired the estate, before it was sold in 1886 to Alexander Prinz zu Solms-Brennerfels. In the same year, ownership passed to Maria and Georg Schröder, who initiated the renaming to "Marienhof" in 1887.
