The remains of the ancient town can be visited
Ancient City of Dolichiste

The remains of the ancient city of Dolikhiste are now largely submerged on the Lycian coast. Located on the northern side of Kekova Island, it offers a glimpse into a sunken world shaped by natural disasters.
History+
The history of Dolikhiste is marked by seismic activity. In the 2nd century AD, the city was severely damaged by an earthquake. Although it was rebuilt during the Byzantine era, the site was later abandoned. Another earthquake, presumably in the 10th century, caused a large part of the ruins to permanently disappear beneath the water's surface.
Location+
The remains of Dolikhiste are situated on Kekova Island, near the city of Demre in the Antalya Province, within Turkey's Mediterranean region (Akdeniz).
On site+
The partially submerged ruins are a destination for boat trips, which depart from Üçagiz on the mainland.
