The ancient city of Nitzana, a Nabataean foundation, is located in southwestern Israel, not far from the Egyptian border.
History+
The origins of Nitzana date back to the first century BC, when the Nabataeans founded the city. Approximately two centuries later, it came under Roman rule. From the fourth century AD onwards, Nitzana was settled by Byzantine Christians.

Nitzana is situated in the Southern District (HaDarom) of Israel, at an elevation of approximately 254 meters above sea level.
