The ancient city of Simena, now known as Kaleköy, is situated on the ruins of a former settlement.

History+

Evidence such as tomb inscriptions and coin finds confirm the existence of Simena as early as the 4th century BC. In antiquity, the city was part of the Lycian League, along with Aperlai, Apollonia, and Isinda, but did not play a prominent role. Later, the Knights Hospitaller, who were based in Rhodes until the 16th century, built a medieval Crusader castle on the ancient foundations. This castle, with its characteristic swallowtail battlements, is still well preserved today.

The ancient city of Simena is located in Kaleköy, a district of Antalya province in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 48 meters above sea level.
