Ancient City Syedra

Syedra was first mentioned in written sources in the mid-1st century BC and originally belonged to the Cilicia region. The city was assigned to the province of Pamphylia at the latest under Emperor Tiberius. The buildings, mainly constructed from rubble masonry and once probably plastered, are staggered on rock terraces and connected by partly narrow alleys and stairs. In the center was a colonnaded street with granite columns. Public facilities included a secular basilica and a thermal bath complex.
