The origins of the Antoniterhaus date back to the year 1400, when construction of the monastery began. It served the Order of St. Anthony, which was dedicated to the care of the sick and pastoral work. Over the centuries, the community shaped the spiritual life in Konstanz until the Reformation and later secularizations fundamentally altered the role of the monastery.
