The House can be visited

Arlington Court, a Neoclassical manor house, was built around 1820 in the county of Devon, England. It now houses a diverse collection of artifacts.

History+

The construction of Arlington Court was commissioned by Colonel John Chichester, with the design attributed to Thomas Lee of Barnstaple, a former pupil of Sir John Soane. The Chichester family, part of Devon's gentry, shaped the house's history. The building underwent a substantial expansion in 1865 under Sir Bruce Chichester, the grandson of the original commissioner. Since this alteration, its appearance has remained unchanged. In 1949, Rosalie Chichester, Sir Bruce's daughter, bequeathed the manor house along with its extensive 971-hectare estate to the National Trust.
