The Augustinian Hermits Monastery in Alsfeld was founded by the Augustinian Order in the 13th century, with the first documented mention dating back to 1339. As the western outpost of the order's Saxon-Thuringian province, Alsfeld played a role in the spread of the Augustinians within the Diocese of Mainz. In 1498, the monastery was reformed under Landgrave Wilhelm the Younger of Hesse. Its dissolution occurred in the autumn of 1527 by Landgrave Philipp of Hesse, when the convent still comprised 17 or 18 monks. From this monastery emerged the later Hessian reformer Tilemann Schnabel, who studied with Martin Luther in Wittenberg and later became superintendent in Alsfeld. The monastery buildings were converted into a municipal hospital in 1533, and the revenues were allocated to the University of Marburg from 1540. The former preaching church has served as the Protestant Trinity Church since 1664.

The Augustinian Hermits Monastery is located in Alsfeld, a town in the Vogelsberg district in Hesse, Germany.

Today, the Gothic preaching church and individual other parts of the former monastery complex are preserved. The church is used as a winter church by the Protestant community of Alsfeld and is surrounded by medieval half-timbered houses.
