The Bassenheimer Palais is a historic residence located in Schmitten-Oberreifenberg in the Hochtaunus region of Hesse, Germany. This building, once owned by the Counts Waldbott von Bassenheim, is particularly known for its recently rediscovered frescoes.

History+

The current Bassenheimer Palais was constructed between 1768 and 1770. It was built on the site of a former castle and served as a representative building for the Counts Waldbott von Bassenheim. The architect Johann Friedrich Sckell was responsible for its construction.
