Burgau Castle was built in the 13th century by the Lords of Burgau. In 1305, it belonged to the House of Wettin and was burned down in 1450 during the Saxon Fratricidal War. Although attempts were made to rebuild the castle in 1510, the last remnants were demolished in 1755. In 1906, Prof.
