Bishopscourt, a manor and estate house on the Isle of Man, once served as the official residence of the Bishop of Sodor and Man.

History+

The current mansion house dates from the 17th century. Bishop Thomas Wilson began rebuilding a previously dilapidated complex, which only included a tower and a chapel, starting in 1698. He designed the estate in its present castellated style. Later, from 1784, Bishop Claudius Crigan expanded the complex and had the King Orry's Tower restored.
