History+

The von Mansbach family, who played a significant role in the region, erected several castles and palaces over time. After Schloss Geyso was sold in 1662, there was a need for a new residence. However, the current Blue Castle, also known as Unterhof, was only built in 1820. It later left family ownership and has been used for new purposes since 2006, also receiving its characteristic blue paintwork.
