The Boosenburg, also known as Oberburg, is a lowland castle on the right bank of the Rhine in Rüdesheim. It has a striking, two-tiered keep, which was once surrounded by a cubic structure with an entrance.

History+

The origins of the Boosenburg likely date back to the 12th century, when it served as the seat of the Knights Fuchs von Rüdesheim. In 1407, the property passed by inheritance to the Brömser von Rüdesheim family. From 1474 to 1830, the castle was owned by the Boos von Waldeck.
