In the Moray region of Scotland stands Brodie Castle, the traditional seat of the Brodie Clan. Its architecture combines a residential tower with two round corner towers to form a Z-shaped footprint.

History+

The first documented mention of a castle at this location dates back to 1160. The current complex was built in 1567. In the early 17th century, the core building was extended with a western addition. During the English Civil War, specifically in 1645, the castle was severely damaged and burned down during an attack, but it was rebuilt in the following years.
