Buddhistische Klosterschule Ganden Tashi Choeling

The Ganden Tashi Choeling Monastery School was established in 2002 and adheres to the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism according to Je Tsongkhapa. In 2014, the monastery housed 32 ordained monks and nuns, along with approximately 20 lay followers. For funding and as part of monastic life, the community operates various projects, including its own publishing house, a bakery, a hair salon, and several retail outlets. Lama Dechen Losang Chöma Rinpoche leads the monastery. A non-profit association in Päwesin serves as the supporting body for the religious community.

The monastery is situated in Päwesin, a district of Brandenburg an der Havel in the federal state of Brandenburg, Germany.

In addition to the primary study of Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism, the monastery school offers interested individuals and groups, such as school classes, the opportunity to visit by prior arrangement. Furthermore, those interested can gain insights into daily monastic life through so-called work holidays. There are collaborations with the Protestant parish of Päwesin, which manifest, among other things, in ecumenical religious and ethics instruction. An annual pre-Christmas Sangha festival with a winter market and theater performances takes place, from which the monastic theater ensemble United Peace Artists emerged. The monastery also provides care for various rescued domestic animals.
