In Horb am Neckar-Ahldorf is Ahldorf Castle, a former hilltop castle, known today for its castle tower, which once gave the place its name.
Only the castle tower remains of the original castle complex today. This tower, situated within the area known as the “Schafhof,” gave its name to the former village name Altheim zum hohen Turm.
Ahldorf Castle is located in the Ahldorf district of Horb am Neckar in the Freudenstadt district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It stands at an elevation of approximately 406 meters above sea level.
Visitors can view the preserved castle tower from the outside, but an interior visit of the tower is not possible.
