Alsbach Castle (Engelskirchen)
In Engelskirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, stands Alsbach Castle, also known as Haus Alsbach. This fortified manor house is a moated castle, surrounded by a moat, and an example of 17th-century architecture in the region.
History+
The first documented mention of the complex, then referred to as "zu me hove," presumably dates back to 1373. Between 1622 and 1627, the current manor house was built, likely on the foundations of an older castle. Haus Alsbach underwent remodeling in 1896.

Alsbach Castle is privately owned and surrounded by a moat. An outer bailey is situated to the northwest, and a southern garden parterre is connected to the manor house by a bridge. The property is accessible via a narrow, approximately 300-meter-long driveway. Interior visits are not possible, but the complex can be viewed from the outside.
