Angermund Castle
Angermund Castle, also known as the Kellnerei, is a ring castle on the Angerbach in the Angermund district of Düsseldorf.
The castle dates back to a Staufer foundation from the years 1167 to 1191. Some parts of the castle still date from the 13th century. It was one of the northernmost bastions of the Count of Berg and the seat of a Bergian cellarer, who was responsible for the economic administration of the surrounding estates.
In 1635, the gatehouse was built, and in 1780, the manor house.
From 1982 to 1985, the castle was converted into a residential complex. It is now privately owned and cannot be visited.
