Arnholz Castle
History of Narrenholz Castle+
Narrenholz Castle (also known as Nornholz) was first mentioned in a document in 1257 as being owned by the Tyrolean ministeriales of Matrei. In the 14th century, ownership passed to the Lords of Freundsberg and later to the Lords of Schlandersberg. From 1595, the complex was referred to as Arnholz. Next to the building, which has been redesigned several times, rises a massive 16th-century round tower.
