The former moated castle, Burg Aull, is situated in the small village of Aull in the Rhein-Lahn district. Although nothing remains of the original structure, the current building is an example of late Gothic architecture and is among the last Rhenish half-timbered castles.

History+

The origins of Burg Aull date back to the second half of the 13th century. Its first documented mention occurred in 1284, when the castle was recorded as property of the ministerial family Helfenstein. The present appearance of the complex was shaped by renovations that continued into the 18th century, with the current portal dated to 1558.
