Burg Bergerhausen is a castle complex in Bergerhausen, a district of Kerpen in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis. It is one of three former castles in the area.

History+

The origins of the moated castle date back to the 13th century, when it was built as the ancestral seat of the Knights of Bergerhausen. Around 1320, the Bergerhausen brothers sold part of their property to the St. Mary's Gradual Chapter in Cologne. Later, the Archbishops of Cologne acquired the lordship to secure their territory. Archbishop Walram transferred the castle in 1334 to Knight Hans-Ulrich Bergerhausen for services rendered.
