In Bielstein, a district of Wiehl in the Oberbergischer Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia, the historic manor house Bielstein Castle stands at approximately 174 meters above sea level. It now serves as a cultural center.

History+

The building known today as Bielstein Castle was erected in 1720 by Christian Schmidt, a chancellor and mining bailiff from Homburg. In the mid-18th century, the manor house passed into the possession of the industrialist Möller family from Warstein. The name "Bielstein" for the area around the estate is derived from the Bilstein Caves in the Sauerland, which were also associated with the Möller family.
