History+

The early history of Brennhausen Castle is sparsely documented, with some elements of the complex possibly dating back to the 13th century. The first documented mention of a Truchsess von Brunnhausen appears in 1421 in documents from the Counts of Henneberg. Further evidence dates from 1439 and 1522.
