Bubenheim Castle
Burg Bubenheim, a lowland castle in North Rhine-Westphalia, is on a tree-covered island amidst the Börde landscape. Located near Rommelsheim in the Düren district.
History+
First documented in 1377 as property of the Spies von Büllesheim family, who established their own branch there, Burg Bubenheim changed hands in 1699 through the marriage of Philippina Isabella Clara Spies zu Büllesheim und Bubenheim to Baron Johann Franz von Berghe genannt Trips. In 1757, the castle was sold to the Jülich tanner Zantis. After several changes of ownership, the estate passed to the Barons von Nellessen from Aachen in 1878, before being acquired by the Schmitz-Peiffer family in 1935.

Burg Bubenheim is an estate that, in addition to agricultural use, is available for events such as weddings and corporate parties. A play area with an indoor hall and a corn maze complements the offerings.
