Dottendorf Castle
Burg Dottendorf, a former moated castle, is situated in the Dottendorf district of Bonn. It is a protected architectural monument and once served as a free noble knight's seat. Today, it houses the Geburtshaus Bonn.
History+
The first documented mention of Burg Dottendorf dates back to 1491, when it was owned by the Lords of Büchel. In 1850, the property changed hands, acquired by the Endenich manufacturer Carl Baunscheidt. The castle remained with the Heukamp family until 2010; they renovated the building in the 1990s and established a guesthouse there.
