Dransdorf Castle

The origins of Dransdorf Castle date back to the 12th century, when a service man of the Electorate of Cologne named Cuno von Travinstorp was mentioned around 1139. In 1224, a knight named Lambertus de Draynstorp appeared. The castle changed hands multiple times, including Albrecht von Zweiffel in 1482 and the Cologne family von Lyskirchen from 1664. The associated castle chapel, the Antoniuskapelle, was first documented in 1575. At the end of the 17th century, the Junkersdorf family took over the property. During the War of the Palatine Succession, the castle was burned down by French troops in 1695.
