In Dreiborn, a district of Schleiden in the Euskirchen district, North Rhine-Westphalia, Dreiborn Castle is located. It is a moated castle at approximately 540 meters above sea level and is considered the highest-situated complex of its kind in the Rhineland. It is a protected monument.

History+

The original complex was a rectangular, two-part castle, surrounded by a wide moat and accessible from the south. It was built of quarry stone and was partially plastered. The main castle was once four-winged. An expansion took place between 1680 and 1695, during which the two-story residential building of the main castle with a lantern-crowned corner tower and the core of the southern outer bailey wing were constructed.
