Schloss Großliebringen+
Geschichte+

Großliebringen was first mentioned in a document in 1106 as Lyeberga in a directory of the Paulinzella monastery. Before the founding of the village, a Frankish moated castle, built in the 10th century, stood on the site of the present castle. In 1540, Heinrich von Roßla was named as the owner of the village and castle. Later, ownership passed to the Lords of Witzleben. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. In 1993, it was converted into a country hotel. After a period of vacancy, the hotel was reopened in 2007 with a new owner.
