Geilenkirchen Castle
Geilenkirchen Castle is a former moated castle on the left bank of the Wurm river in the city of Geilenkirchen (An der Burg) in the Heinsberg district, North Rhine-Westphalia.
The castle was built in the 12th century by the Counts of Heinsberg to secure the Wurm ford on the Roman road Aachen-Roermond.
Today, the remains of the castle, after its destruction in 1945, are integrated into the Episcopal Gymnasium St. Ursula.
