Burg Großbüllesheim is a former moated castle in Großbüllesheim, a district of Euskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia. Only a few remnants remain today, including the gatehouse of the outer bailey.

History+

The moated castle Großbüllesheim was first mentioned in 1402, when it was granted as a fief by the Duke of Jülich to Reymer Spies von Büllesheim. It remained a Jülich fief until the death of the last Duke, Ludwig von Brempt, in 1802. Subsequently, the castle lost its status as a noble residence and began to decay.
