Hatzenturm Castle
Hatzenturm Castle is a tower castle situated on a hillside in the Hatzenturm district of the municipality of Wolpertswende. It is now privately owned.
History+
The origins of Hatzenturm Castle date back to 1128, when a Filius Hattonis was mentioned in the annals. It is believed that the Knights of Hatzenturm, a branch of the Lords of Fronhofen who later called themselves von Königsegg, built the castle. In 1419, Hans von Königsegg, Eberhard's son, sold Hatzenturm Castle along with the church patronage of Wolpertswende to the Heilig-Geist-Spital in Ravensburg.

Today, Hatzenturm Castle is privately owned. The 18-meter-high residential tower, which also served as a keep, has a base area of 9 by 9 meters and a wall thickness of 2.50 meters.
