Heid Castle (Lampaden)

In the 14th century, the Gutshof Heid originated in the area of today's Schillingen and Heddert municipalities. In the 18th century, the property belonged to the Trier Cathedral Chapter. After an auction in 1804, it came into the possession of art collector Peter Job Hermes. His nephew, Johann Peter Job Nell, converted the manor farm into a knight's estate and stately home around 1850, establishing the designation "Burg" (castle). The von Nell family ceased agricultural operations in 1932, and in the same year, General Director Achter from Mönchengladbach acquired the estate, which is now privately managed by his son, Helmut Achter.

Burg Heid is located near Lampaden in the Trier-Saarburg district of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It stands at an elevation of approximately 324 meters above sea level on the road between Lampaden and Heddert.
