807-1036 was Hohlach seat of Gaugrafen of Hohenlohe. 1178 was Heinrich von Weikersheim owners Hohlach. 1630 transferred the ownership to Christof von Ehenheim. He built the castle. From 1810, the family of Würtzburg was owner of the castle. In 1935 it was sold into private ownership.
