Juntersdorf Castle

The origins of Burg Juntersdorf date back to the 14th century, when it was transformed from a Prüm fief to a Nideggen castle fief around 1400. In 1443, the Lords of Guntersdorf sold the property to Knight Reinhard Brent von Vernich. Just twenty years later, in 1463, Degenhard Haes zu Türnich was named as the feudal lord. An exchange took place in 1494 when Wilhelma von Linzenich and her children traded Burg Konradsheim for Burg Juntersdorf. Through marriages, the castle came into the possession of the von Koelgraven and von Holzheim families, and later also to Johann Wilhelm von Harff, who undertook renovations in 1627.
