Krakau Castle (Krefeld)
Cracau Castle is a former moated castle in the Bismarckviertel (between Uerdinger- and Cracauerstraße) of the Krefeld district of Cracau in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The castle was built around 1400 and changed owners several times in the 15th to 16th centuries due to inheritances, pledges or armed conflicts. In 1677, the last Orange, William III of England, had the castle demolished due to its lost military significance.
In the second half of the 18th century, a palace was built on the castle site, which was destroyed in 1943 during the Second World War.
Today, part of the outer wall of the castle can still be seen.
