The former knight's estate Burg Langen, also known as Haus Langen, is located in the southwestern part of Westbevern, a district of Telgte. This complex, often mistakenly equated with its associated water mill, is situated at a weir on the Bever, just before its confluence with the Ems.

History+

The origins of Haus Langen date back to 1150, when the feudal lordship of the Bishop of Münster was documented. The estate remained in the possession of the eponymous "noble knights of Langen" until 1378. Through an heiress, the property then passed to the von Letmathe family. In 1702, Haus Langen changed hands due to a testamentary disposition, going to Bernhard Engelbert Christian von Beverförde-Werries.
