In Grafschaft-Lantershofen in the Ahrweiler district, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, Burg Lantershofen is located at an elevation of approximately 158 meters above sea level. The complex represents one of the oldest Frankish settlements on the left bank of the Ahr. Originally built on Roman foundations, it was destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. Today, it serves as the St. Lambert Study House and seminary.

The first documented mention of Lantershofen dates back to July 1, 1019, when Emperor Henry II transferred the property to Michelsberg Abbey near Bamberg. A first castle was presumably built on Roman wall remains, which was conquered and destroyed in 1372 by the Archbishop of Cologne, Friedrich III von Saarwerden.
