On a sloping mountain spur on the Schlossberg hill above Bad Liebenzell lies Burg Liebenzell, once the most significant fortress in the Württemberg Black Forest. Its location and current use as a youth education center and restaurant make it a special attraction in the region.

History+

The origins of Burg Liebenzell date back to the 12th century when it was built by the Counts of Calw. As early as 1196, the Counts of Eberstein are mentioned as owners. Between 1220 and 1230, the complex underwent expansion. The castle was destroyed in the 16th century and again in 1692, but was rebuilt in 1954.
