In the Stetternich district of Jülich, Lindenberg Castle, also known as Lindenberg Estate, is a historic moated castle. Surrounded by the waters of the Ellebach and Mühlengraben, it stands today as a manor house in private ownership.

History+

The origins of Lindenberg Castle likely date back to the 12th century, with its name commemorating the original owners whose lineage died out in the 14th century. The property changed hands multiple times, including the families von Harff, von Hompesch, and von Palant. Johann von Palant initiated renovations to the castle. In 1743, under the Barons von Eynatten, it was converted into an estate, which also included a tenant's residence. The entire complex was designated a protected monument, "Gut Lindenberg," in 1993.
