History+
The origins of Burg Maus date back to the second half of the 14th century. Between 1353 and 1357, Archbishop Boemund II of Trier began its construction under the name St. Peterseck. Its completion occurred under his successors Kuno II of Falkenstein and Werner of Falkenstein between 1362 and 1388. The castle temporarily served as a residence for these ecclesiastical princes.
