Münsterhof Castle (Horstmar)

The origins of the Münsterhof date back to 1347, when the Lords of Münster were documented as the first owners of the property, giving the court its name. In 1550, ownership changed hands to the von Canstein family through marriage. From 1576, the property became known as Haus Neuhoff. A testamentary disposition in 1699 led to Bernhard Engelbert Christian von Beverförde-Werries acquiring the estate. His son, Friedrich Christian von Beverförde zu Werries, later adopted his nephew Friedrich Clemens von Elverfeldt zu Dahlhausen und Steinhausen, who inherited the Münsterhof, transferring it into the possession of the Elverfeldt genannt von Beverfoerde zu Werries family.
