Niederalfingen Castle, also known as Marienburg, is a spur castle situated on a mountain spur above the Kocher Valley in Niederalfingen, a district of the municipality of Hüttlingen in the Ostalbkreis district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It stands at an elevation of approximately 439 meters above sea level.

History+

The origins of Niederalfingen Castle date back to approximately 1050, when it was built as a Hohenstaufen fortification to secure important trade routes. After 1300, the complex came into the possession of the Knights of Seckendorf, before passing to Count Eberhard the Quarrelsome of Württemberg in 1368. In 1415, the nobles of Hürnheim acquired the castle.
