Geschichte+

Das Herrenhaus Burg Obersülz, also known as Scheltensülz and Heidenhaus, is located near the river Sülz in Hoffnungsthal. First mentioned in documents in the 12th century, the building fabric found today dates back to the 15th century.

The castle is now restored and inhabited.

The name "Heidenhaus" goes back to the legend The Lüderich by Otto Schell.
