Obersülz Castle (Hoffnungsthal)
Burg Obersülz, also known as Scheltensülz or Heidenhaus, is a historic manor house located near the Sülz river in Hoffnungsthal. While its origins date back to the 12th century, the current building fabric predominantly reflects constructions from the 15th century.

The first documented mention of Burg Obersülz dates back to the 12th century. However, the visible parts of the building today largely originate from the 15th century. The epithet “Heidenhaus” is linked to the legend “Der Lüderich” by Otto Schell.
