On the outskirts of the hamlet of Oflings near Wangen im Allgäu in Baden-Württemberg is Burg Oflings. The lowland castle has an expansive half-timbered upper floor.

History+

The origins of Burg Oflings date back to the 12th century, when it was built as a ministerialis castle for the Abbey of St. Gallen. In 1340, the castle was mentioned as a fief of the Huß von Wolflins family. Before 1510, ownership transferred to the Imperial City of Wangen. Later, in 1897, Anaklet Sigg acquired the castle, which has remained in the possession of the Sigg family ever since. A restoration was carried out in 1996.
