Oschersleben Castle

The first documented mention of Oschersleben Castle dates back to 1205, although its origins are likely even older. The complex, consisting of a core castle and a northern outer bailey, was owned by the Bishops of Halberstadt but was repeatedly pledged, including to the Archdiocese of Magdeburg and the Counts of Regenstein. In 1545, Cardinal Albrecht had the castle renovated and expanded, resulting in a four-story residential building in Renaissance style. After its transfer to Brandenburg in 1648, the castle became a domain. In the late 19th century, the castle was demolished and rebuilt as a warehouse, with parts of the old material being reused.
