Ranzow Castle

The first documented mention of Burg Ranzow dates back to 1663. Its builder was Georg Friedrich Ludwig von Nassau-Siegen, a brother of the Kleve governor Johann Moritz von Nassau-Siegen, as indicated by a coat of arms inscription on the baroque tower above the portal. In the 18th century, the property came into the possession of East Holstein family members, who used it as a manor house and gave it the name “Ranzow”.
