Regenpeilstein Castle
Sattelpeilnstein Castle, also known as Peilstein Castle, is a castle ruin on the "Hohen Gockel" ridge above the Sattelpeilnstein district of the municipality of Traitsching in the district of Cham in Bavaria.
The hilltop castle was mentioned in 1180, was presumably the ancestral seat of the Lords of Peilnstein, and fell into disrepair in the 15th century. In the 16th century, Justinian von Peilnstein built the new Sattelpeilnstein Castle below the dilapidated castle.
Only minor wall remains of the former castle complex, built from granite ashlar blocks, are preserved.
